Nicole Marie Paul

Nicole Marie Paul, of Columbia, Maryland, was a graduate student in Women's Studies at George Washington University. She worked full time at GW as a secretary to pay for her schooling.

She loved life and people. Everyone from a GW department head to a UPS delivery man attended her memorial service.

She would do anything for her friends and family. Nicole was a strong advocate for women's rights. Her undergraduate degree was in International Business and French. Nicole loved to travel to new places and meet new people.

Nicole was an animal lover; she especially loved her guinea pig "Cocoa."

CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE MURDER

Nicole Marie Paul, 24, of Columbia, Maryland, was murdered in her apartment in Washington D.C. by two acquaintances. They stabbed and brutally beat her to death in her bedroom after she refused to have sex with them. Her roommate found her dead and slumped over the end of her bed after he had returned from a weekend out of town.

Ivan Lopez pleaded guilty to armed manslaughter and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. As of June 1996, Victoriano Savinon was out of prison awaiting trial.

Nicole Paul
