March 4, 1958 to May 19, 1993

Mark Hileman, of Richmond, Indiana, loved life. He was hard working, loved his family, and was a friend to everyone he met.

He loved old cars and he enjoyed showing them at car shows. He had driven a semi truck for the same company for 12 years and looked forward to moving on to another freight company in the future.

Mark was a good father to his two daughters. He also cherished his two sisters very much. He was preceded in death by his father two years earlier. His dad was also a truck driver whom he idolized very much.

CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE MURDER

Mark Hileman, 35, of Richmond, Indiana, was a truck driver for Primex Plastics, out of Richmond, Indiana. He had made a trip to Chicago, Illinois on May 19, 1993. He was on his way home when he was stopped by a Department of Transportation Officer for no apparent reason. A drunk driver was traveling at a high rate of speed. Michelle Weigand left the roadway, struck and killed Mark. She left the scene, but turned herself in three days later, was arrested, but not held.

Weigand was convicted of a hit and run and sentenced to 30 days in jail. She served just 14 days.
