Donald Vincent Bentley

April 8, 1970 to August 11, 1989

Donald Bentley, of Baltimore, Maryland, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baltimore. He was a student at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Baltimore, Don was educated at Grove Park Elementary School, Mount Washington County School and graduated from the Gilman School in 1988.

At Gilman, he was a defensive back on the football team and a member of the track team. He studied Spanish and even visited Spain. He was a member of The Black Awareness Club, which is a service organization. Don was also a speaker of the house in The Associated Student Congress of Baltimore Mock Legislative Program.

While in elementary school he was a Cub and Boy Scout. At Gilman, Don won the final debate his Senior year. His major at Morehouse College was political science. Don's goal was to be mayor of Baltimore City.

CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE MURDER

Donald Bentley, 19, of Baltimore, Maryland, was killer August 11, 1989.

At about 10:30 pm, Donald Bentley and several friends were standing outside of the Wall Street Inn, located on the 1800 block of Maryland Avenue, near Trenton Street. A blue Chevrolet cavalier, driven by a heavy set female parked close to McDonald's.

Suddenly, three african-american males jumped out of the car and started shooting into the crowd. Donald was shot and killed. After the shooting the suspects fled in the blue Chevrolet cavalier.

Donald's murder is still unsolved.
