Victor Steven Frankl
"Vic"
20 Years Old

October 20, 1955 to November 22, 1975

Victor Steven Frankl, or Vic as we used to call him, was basically a kind and gentle young man. He had a broad and infectious smile behind which one could see bright blue eyes and a shock of blond hair. He had a nice sense of humor and a love of the outdoors. He was quite a good athlete and loved to play soccer, football and basketball. He was a freshman in college when he was killed. He had not yet decided on a career. We looked forward to many good years with him. His murder has left an emptiness in the lives of his mother, father and brother. We remember him and miss him every day.

CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE MURDER

Victor Steven Frankl was murdered on November 22, 1975. He was 20 years old. He was shot through the heart and apparently died instantly. He was killed three blocks from our home. The killer, John Muilloli, had purchased an illegal hand gun, pointed it at Victor, and killed him. At trial, he said it was an "accident". He was found guilty on 5 of 6 counts which should have placed him in jail for a minimum of 10 years. The Judge, disagreeing with the jury, blamed the killing on "Violence on TV", and changed the verdict to 5 years probation in order not to expose the 19 year old defendant to the degrading life in prison. We were outraged as was the District Attorney. The killer now runs a suburban gun shop!!
