Ken Paul Reyes
19 Years Old

June 28, 1972 to December 6, 1991

My dear son Ken was born in New York on June 28th, 1972. It was a joy to bring him home. His brothers Rey and David and sister Vicky were anxious to see him. They were so amazed when I brought him home. Ken was baptized at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.

We enjoyed spending time playing at the park as well as taking strolls through Rockefeller Center during the holidays. Then we moved to St. Croix, the U.S. Virgin Islands. A fond memory was watching Ken and his siblings swing from the vines of beautiful trees. We then made our home in Miami Beach. The beach was just blocks away and the children would spend many hours there. Ken enjoyed diving from the pier.

Ken was an all-around-athlete. He even won presidential awards in sports. His earliest aspiration was to play football with the Miami Hurricanes and later to play with the Miami Dolphins. He also raced BMX bikes, performed stunts and received many award ribbons. Ken got involved with boxing and began intense training in hopes of becoming a professional boxer.

Ken enjoyed rap music and dancing. You could see the gleam in his eyes as he would perform for me.

Friends adored Ken and he adored his friends. They liked riding motorcycles or just hanging-out listening to music. His favorite food was pancakes. When he grew an appetite, he could prepare a meal consisting of rice, peanut butter and chocolate.

Ken’s smile and laughter was contagious. He was thoughtful, caring and overprotective.

Ken is constantly in our hearts and thoughts. We miss him so very, very much.

Dear Ken, We love you forever and ever!
