James Samuel Brown
39 Years Old

January 7, 1966 to January 24, 2005

WOW! Would be your first thought when you met J.B. He was magnificent in his Spirit and person. He was known for his beautiful, one million watt smile that lit up the world! He was the one who was always there to open the car door when Momma and Daddy came home from the grocery store to help with the grocery bags.. On cold, snowy, icy days, you’d hear him outside shoveling snow in Momma and Daddy’s walkway at 5:00 am in the morning. James was born in Washington, D.C., January 7, 1966 the second youngest of seven children. He was the best of us all, will be forevermore! He was the spitting image of his father, James K. Brown, just like his father, he loved and enjoyed life, fancy cars and beautiful women. As a result of his love for women, he had two beautiful children, Jamie and Paris Brown. His only down fall, being a Dallas Cowboy fan! He was blessed with many talents and was good at whatever he did. A fighter throughout his life, even through death, leaving this earth the same way he came in, strong! He was always the first one at my door to help when trouble came, no matter what. The most important thing I’d like for anyone who reads this to know about James is that he was a Christian, he believed in the power of GOD with all his might, most times, you would see him with his Bible open, reading, now he’d be the first to tell you, I ain’t no angel, but you got to believe in GOD man, HE”S the True Warrior! To anyone reading this, he’d say Keep Your Head Up and Never Give Up! You can’t tear down what GOD built up! So, I’m still here, still fighting and when you look up, I’ll be right there, smiling. There is so much more I could say about J.B., but as I take his picture out of the frame, there is a quote taped to the back of his picture that I believe he’d want you to see: “When you have come to the edge of all the light you know and you are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, FAITH is knowing that one of two things will happen; there will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught how to fly.”

CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE MURDER

On January 24, 2005, he was killed, found innocent of any wrong doing. His case is still under investigation, details cannot be divulged. His perpetrators who are not worth mentioning are still free, for now! He may have died at the hands of men but he wouldn’t want to be remembered as a victim, He’d want to be remembered as the Soldier he was, fighting until the death. For only a true soldier could have endured such struggles as he did and manage to die with a smile on his face. In honor of our “friend for that” J.B.!
