Edward Wayne Gibson
42 Years Old

September 25, 1965 to June 23, 2007

Edward Wayne Gibson lived in Cleveland, Ohio.  He was 42 years old at the time of his death.  It was early Saturday morning in Cleveland, Ohio, June 23, 2007 around 2:15 am when two customers were leaving Henry’s Bar located on 44th and Clark when our brother Edward Wayne Gibson and his friend left the bar to walk home. Then they were met by an unknown gunman who had an argument with our brother’s friend earlier that night in the bar. The gunman walked up and pulled out a small caliber hand gun and fired one shot into the group and then fired a second round into our brother’s friend’s face.  When our brother Ed realized what had happened he yelled and started to chase after the shooter. Realizing his friend had been shot he gave up the pursuit and turned to get back to his friend when the gunman turned and fired another shot which hit our brother in his right ear and he fell to the ground. He was rushed to metro General Hospital where he was pronounced brain dead late that morning. After talking to the doctors they left us with no hope of recovery due to the bullet causing so much damage to his brain stem.  His real act of heroism came when his organs and other body parts were harvested and transplanted to several people in the state of Ohio. Our only hope now is that the people at Henry’s Bar who witnessed this murder, speaks up and tell the police what really happened that night. Even though our brother will never be able to see justice served, our family will make sure this crime doesn't go unsolved even if it takes our last breath.
