Dustin Eric Harless, "Buster", of Dewey, Montana, was a great young man. He never forgot a name and was a friend to all her met. A very strong, loving and gentle person. He loved his family and was there for all of us. Dustin was a National Champion Wrestler. He started in 2nd grade and wrestled through college. His life can be tracked by all the awards and gold medals he received and by his many friends both on and off the wrestling mat. Good sportsmanship was his way, win or lose. He helped everyone. At the time of his death he was helping his high school team. Other interests included surfing, snow boarding, snow skiing and wake boarding. He was employed by Innovative Marketing Ventures as an advertising sales representative for sporting equipment. He was also a thruster team board rider.

CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE MURDER

On April 18, 1996 at 2:38 in the morning, Dustin was on his way home with his girlfriend. Dustin was stabbed by David Genzler in cold blood. David jumped out of his car, hit Dustin in the temple and Dustin fell to the pavement. David jumped on top and stabbed Dustin with a 4" knife, putting it in all the way to the hilt.

David Genzler was convicted of Second Degree Murder and was sentenced to 20 years to life. David Genzler is in prison now at Mule Creek Prison. David Genzler has to serve 85% of 20 years before he is eligible for parole.
